Situation
You have used AutoAdmin 2008 or 2010 to make a backup of your database and now you are not sure how to restore your backup.
Solution
There are two possible answers to this question depending on what method you chose to make your backup.
Option 1
If you selected the option of "Full Backup" then this is simply an ACT! backup file. You will go into ACT! and go to FILE > RESTORE and choose the backup file in the folder you saved your backup into.
Option 2
If you selected "Selective Backup" then this uses our own method of making a .ZIP file. You will need to first extract the .ZIP backup file to a folder. Then, you will open ACT! and go to FILE > OPEN and change the file type to .ADF. Then browse to the folder in which you extracted the .ZIP file manually and open the .ADF file that is located in that folder. ACT! will recreate the database etc.
