5.  SQL Databases

 

MigrateAdmin 2010 now offers the ability to migrate a Goldmine SQL database into ACT!.  The following information should assist you in exporting the SQL Goldmine data into MigrateAdmin.

 

When pressing the "New Config" button you may see the following SPFiles warning.  Simply click OK and proceed using the steps listed below.  The SPFILES.dbf is only used for standard DBASE database migrations.

 

Here is an example of the SPFILES warning message

1.  Create a new configuration by pressing the "Create Config" button.

 

Here is an example of the main screen where you will find "Create Config"

2.  Press the "SQL" button to load the SQL Database Setup screen

 

Here is an example of the SQL button on the New Configuration window

3.  Once you have pressed the SQL button, this will load the SQL Database Setup screen.  On this screen you will need to input the following:

SQL Server
SQL Username (Normally "sa")
SQL Password

 

4.  Once you have entered that information you will press the "Logon" button.  Then under the SQL Database side, you can select the Goldmine database you wish to Migrate and choose a folder to save the exported files that Migrate will used for the migration.

 

5.  Press the EXPORT button once you have filled out all the required information as shown below.  You MUST export your database before saving.

6.  After pressing the "Export" button, this will return you to the standard MigrateAdmin setup screen to choose your ACT! database, and your options, and field mappings.
